Dora is a lonely nurse living in a suburb on the Nebraska prairie. Heart full of love, she is dissatisfied with her married boyfriend Kevin. One night, Dora’s world is disrupted when a wild swan flies into her window. The very next day, the Swan transforms into a man, who Dora names Bill. At first childlike and feral, the Swan’s love for Dora evolves into something otherworldly, while the nature of their relationship falls under scrutiny from their community.
Loosely based on the myth of Leda and the Swan, this play combines deft comedy, tragic romance, and classical gravitas. How can you choose when caught between the earthly and the divine?
